When looking for someone to design your home you need to do the relevant research. Are they licensed building designers or residential architects and do they typically designs homes in the feel and budget that you are looking for. They best way to pick a designer is not only by their qualifications but by finding references as well.A good building designer or Architect will guide you through evaluating you block of land and discussing your design options in regards to the type of construction. As a client you will need to first come up with a wish list and then sit down with your professional designer and work on the design brief, that is what is going to be included in from your wish list and how you want your new home to feel. Universally you will always say "I would like plenty of light" and I want the house to be cool in summer" and "warm in winter" with "plenty of space" ... well everyone wants that. The trick for your architect is to design your house to suit your brief, fit your block of land and provide correct solar orientation... sounds simple. Well what if you had a narrow block of land, then the building design would have to provide a narrow lot house design and if your block sloped the house would have to be a split level design. All not is as simple as it seems and this is where Blueprint Designs can help. They have over 20 years in building design experience and design anything from family designed homes to luxury homes designed specifically for each individual client. |
