NATA Entrance Exam -Think, Plan and Design your career in Architecture

After 10th Standard every student is in dilemma about what career he/she should pursue. Each of us should pause for a moment and think what we plan to do in the future and strategies appropriately. Architecture as a program is not available in all the engineering institutions across the country. The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) course falls under the Council of Architecture (CoA) (www.coa.gov.in) unlike the other engineering programs that are administered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). All engineering programs are conducted over a period of four years, the graduate program of Architecture is administered for five. On qualifying as a learner of architecture, one will come under the Architects Act of 1972. With the increase in opportunities thanks to infrastructure development and growth, the chances for architecture graduates have increased many a time. The entrance test to any professional program has become mandatory. Students interested in pursuing courses in architecture courses should appear for the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) or AIEEE (B.Architecture) The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), a national level test conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA), is recommended for students aspiring to do it big as a future architect. The test is the gateway for admissions into various 5-year bachelors of architecture courses offered by nearly 190 colleges. For NATA one could appear for the test at any of the test centres as notified in NATA official website i.e. www.nata.in. Weightage would be given to 50 per cent marks obtained in Intermediate and 50 per cent in the NATA exam held online. For NITs and the Schools of Planning and Architecture, a student can also get admission through the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). 10+2 or PUC students who are desirous of taking admission to first year of undergraduate course in Architecture (Bachelor of Architecture) in India can also take AIEEE (Arch) Exam. Scores are used by admissions authorities of different Government, Govt. aided & unaided Schools/Colleges of architecture.
