Got Mould??? With all the wet weather we have been having over the last six months you may have been considering getting some pressure cleaning at your property. Before you do there are a few things that you should consider before you engage anyone to do the work for you. "The pain of poor quality lingers on long after the pleasure of low price wears off." The old adage: “You pay for what you get” is certainly true when it comes to pressure cleaning. It is always possible to get someone to do the job cheaply and often this is what you end up with: a cheap job. Be careful about what chemicals the company will use. Acid etching is common for cleaning driveways but this damages the surface permanently. Similarly, bleach is often used to put a “shine” on surfaces. Bleach doesn’t actually clean: it only whitens and it is extremely bad for plants and lungs. Choose a company that uses bio-degradable cleaners and offers products that inhibit the growth of mould. You want the result for which you have paid to last! If the company you call isn’t someone you know, you probably won’t know whether or not they have the knowledge to do a proper job, giving you the service you paid for and deserve. If you want to be sure you’re hiring a competent professional, make sure they’re Water Efficient Operator licensed. That technician must earn their license through study, experience and the successful completion of formal, written examinations. Also check that if you want a roof cleaned your cleaner is fully licensed to work at heights, has the proper safety gear and is fully insured. Make sure too that the company meets EPA (environmental Protection Agency) standards for cleaning. What about a guarantee? Every company should be fully accountable for their work. If you aren’t pleased in every way, you shouldn’t have to pay for it. Not all companies offer a guarantee. Or, if they do, it may be confused with a "limited warranty," something like: "we’ll cover the treatment for this amount of time," which means you’ll probably get stuck paying for the same treatment again. Ask the company you are considering hiring if they have a written, money-back guarantee. Any company can say anything about its past jobs. Sadly, some of what they say may not be true. Make sure you ask for references or read comments from current and past customers. By doing so, you’ll get a much better feel for the integrity and honesty of the company. THE PRESSURE CLEAN EXPERTS are Licensed Water Efficient Operators, comply with EPA guidelines and are registered to Work at Heights. We clean driveways, roofs, paths, pergolas, wash houses and gutters. We also offer commercial and body corporate services. Contact them FREE on 1800 370 092
